SUMMARY
I, Michael Alan Primeau, have been practicing in the following disciplines; audio/video forensics
and image forensics for the last 12 years. I have expert witness testimony experience in courts at the state level.
As an audio forensic analyst, my practices include digital audio authentication, clarification, and comparison.
As a video forensic analyst, my practices include video authentication, clarification and analysis. As an image forensic analyst,
my practices include image clarification, authentication, and comparison. As a digital forensic examiner, my practices include
the collection, recovery and reconstruction of digital multimedia evidence from DVRs, NVRs, VMSs and other devices that record audio/video data.
Throughout the course of my career, I have been retained as an expert for Law Enforcement agencies in forensic investigative
capacities throughout the United States. Some of these departments include The Department of Justice, Department of Defense,
Department of Internal Affairs, Cedar Rapids Police in IA, Attorney Generals’ offices of New York, Michigan, and several others.
I follow best practices from the Scientific Working Group for Digital Evidence (SWGDE), the National Institute of Standards
and Technology (NIST), and ASTM International. I currently serve as the chair of the video committee with SWGDE, regularly
contributing to best practices in forensic video analysis. I am also a partner with Primeau Forensics, LTD.
