If you are reading this page, you are probably looking for VHS to DVD restoration, analog videotape restoration or VHS restoration. Our VHS tape restoration services (also known as analogue tape restoration) is both an art and a science. Our team has preserved hundreds if not thousands of analog tape restoration assignments. Many hours of cherished memories that were recorded on VHS and other analog tape. VHS to DVD restoration is a multi- step process that includes cleaning the tape as well as using professional grade VHS analog equiptment.

We have a process that is based on 35+ years of experience with analog tape restoration and recovery. We have the knowledge and skill to restore your VHS and other analog video recordings as much as scientifically possible.

Analog and other VHS recordings can be damaged when improperly stored or exposed to excessive wear from multiple years of playback. They may become deteriorated when stored improperly. For a nominal fee, we will examine your VHS tape in our lab to determine recovery and restoration potential.

When analog tapes are stored in a garage, attic or basement, VHS cassette tapes encounter excessive heat and or moisture, which negatively effects the tape. Our analog VHS tape restoration services are used to preserve cherished memories recorded on analog format (like VHS tape). Some VHS cassette tapes were recorded over 30 years ago.

We enjoy restoring these cherished memories that were once forgotten and may become lost forever if not handled properly. A return on our clients investment is never a regret because they understand the importance of preserving priceless memories. We love the feedback we receive from our clients once their analog tape restoration has been successfully completed. You understand that restoration of your families memories is truly priceless. That is why VHS Restoration of your family memories is done in our forensic lab and begins with cleaning of the VHS tape before it is digitized and restored. Digitization is the process of transferring an analogue VHS tape to a digital format. Once digitized, we can apply forensic enhancement tools and techniques to restore the audio and visual quality through VHS restoration services. One of our more accomplished jobs was the restoration of 16 MM film for the Napoleon Hill Foundation. We also restore and digitize analog tapes used as evidence in court proceedings.

The expected shelf life of analog videotape, when stored properly and safety is approximately 25 years. Many if not all of the issues we experience can be fixed and audio or video content can be restored.

Some VHS video tapes that were not stored properly will not track correctly on an average consumer VHS player. Our professional grade VHS playback equiptment have capabilities to adjust all tracking so the surface of the tape aligns with the tape heads with accuracy. This improves the playback of the tape and often times allows us to recover video content that was once lost.

In some extreme cases we need to repair the physical condition of the tape. The VHS reels may not turn smoothly which reduces the accuracy of playback when transferring. In the images below is a sample VHS tape that has severe damage due to improper storage and in turn lost its oxidized protective coating.

Often times we will perform a preliminary analysis to ensure we are confident in meeting our client's expectations. Analog videotape restoration is an art and a science. The preliminary analysis requires an initial review of the VHS cassette tape. This is done to ensure that we provide an accurate estimate to perform VHS restoration to DVD and recovery. Some cassette tapes are very fragile and may become permanently damaged if not handled correctly. We often times handle tapes that may only have 1 accurate play left in their shelf life. We keep a backup of your restored VHS tape on our servers for life. You always have a back up here should you lose your copy we send.
